Escape from Islay

After breakfast, we bade a fond farewell to our lovely hotel on Islay and had a brief tour round the island. No Otters, but we did see a distant Golden Eagle. We also saw Common Seals, Eiders and lots more geese. We then caught the ferry back to the mainland and then had quite a long drive back to Speyside. This Red-breasted Merganser was fishing in the harbour as we waited for the ferry. Lucky that our guide decided to abandon Islay as the weather over there looks as though it's going to be pretty grim and the ferries may be cancelled.
