Not an Annual

I thought when I planted this last year, it was an annual...I covered it with leaves over the winter and it looked pretty close to dead...I thought about pulling it out of the pot, but there was a bit of green still on it so I decided to wait and see.  So glad I did.  It has doubled in size over the last few weeks and is suddenly covered in flowers again - and it smells lovely, right next to where I park my car :0)

I have had similar luck with the 'annuals' that I put in my hanging baskets last summer.  I buried everything under the leaves in the front flower bed and when I pulled them out there were little green shoots appearing.  Some I have transplanted to a broken bird bath and they are looking great, even have a few flowers already.  So many spring blips in the garden at the moment.
