No time like the present

Out for my lunchtime walk, I saw this display in the Leatherhead museum window. This is SO me - I saw Sound of Music four times at the cinema in the late sixties, had the action man, the Airfix kit, the CND badge, the lot ... we even had the battered old typewriter ...

Maybe that's why our midweek movie night was Midnight In Paris, which is a lovely Woody Allen film that gently questions our tendency to idealise the past rather than living in the present. Owen Wilson so channels Woody Allen its not true, and Marion Cottilard never looked lovelier than when shot in soft focus in the Paris of Hemingway and Fitzgerald. 

So here's to the present ... there is no time like it ... in fact there is no other time ...
