Welcome to the Thunderbox

My Dear Fellow,

This is another in my series of "I Used To Live Here".  This is Rose Street, next to Dirty Dick's where I lived from late 2001 to Autumn 2004.

Tourists were always a problem.  Sometimes it would be hard to get in our front door because of obnoxious hen parties or stag nights taking place right outside.  In the spirit of nostalgia, there were a bunch of young gentlemen being as @rseholey as possible when I was taking this.

Tourists would also love to have their pictures taken outside the pubs which flanked this door.  On one side was "The Bad Ass" and tourists liked to pose outside looking like Bad Asses.  On the other side you can see there "Dirty Dicks" where tourists like to look like...  well, never mind....

I'm making it sound awful.  I actually liked this flat and have some of my happiest memories in it.  And - to the point of the title - it had the best Thunderbox toilet.  That thing WHOOOOSHED all resistance away.  I have missed that until moving into my latest flat which has a similar Thunderbox in it.

I wonder if it is possible to get a Thunderbox in NZ?  If not, I'm not going.

El P.
