"Broken" Brambling

I heard a bird crash into our kitchen window just now and found this little brambling on the ground when I went to investigate.  I picked him up (he had quite a firm grip) and I put him in our "bird hospital" to recover on the wall outside.  Fingers crossed he'll fly away soon...

Very pleased to report that half an hour later (it's now 3:15pm) the brambling is no longer in the "bird hospital" nor anywhere on the ground nearby so I presume he has flown off!  Hooray!
