Bridge over the Leam
We had another wander around Jephson Gardens this morning in the sunshine. Gill had some more time with her new camera and I looked for a blip. I've chosen this view of the suspension bridge over the River Leam, still plenty of water flowing over the weir from the Easter weekend rain. There was some quite serious flooding here in 1999 followed by a period of redevelopment of the gardens which have made it very popular with locals and tourists.
Gill chatted with one of the gardeners, a youngish chap from eastern Europe, he spoke very good English and clearly enjoyed his work. I did wonder how many people take a moment to tell him they appreciate his efforts? He was tidying up one of the formal areas - see the extra - for the section he was just starting on.
