Getting Ready to Blow

I decided it was time to get rid of this giant puffball, Calvatia gigantea, before it explodes and covers my garden with its very fine spore. It’s about 20cm across now, but it was bigger before it began drying out. When fresh they are plump and smooth, and a pale cream in colour. They are fairly rare here. This is the third I have found in my garden in 20 years.
