Six years!!
Well, 6 years of blipping and I’m still cranking along with (almost) as much vigour as I did years back. Continuous blipping, every image loaded on the day it was taken, if I didn’t I’d be cheating myself!
Big hats off to our amazing fab four for doing the hard yards to keep us going…..we have had a year of uncertainty, but I now feel we are back to stability. I often think of Joe and his team and feel rather sad, for if it wasn’t for him and his vision none of us would be here.
A special community of people, and over the last year I have met more blippers, starting off with the big and memorable blipmeet at Wanaka over the Anzac Weekend right through to the most recent being Wendy & Tony from Yorkshire. What a pleasure. We are heading to Ireland, Scotland and the Lake District in August/September, with a good likelihood of meeting some of you again and hopefully meeting some for the first time.
We went to catch a sunrise this morning but not one to be had. However, the clouds were interesting and threatening and overall conditions were very gloomy. These old piles are part of a creek outlet, built many years back to stop the shingle blocking the outlet and preventing flooding up stream. As it shows, it is no longer in working order. If we do have flooding, then the big machinery come in and scoops out the shingle to let the water flow out to sea. This is what was revealed in the storms last July.
Thanks one and all
Cheers, Rainie :)
