the corn man

love this illustration (found in papelcraft) - captures so well the characters on rio's streets. these chaps sell corn on the cob ready-to-eat, some sell tapioca, and others (my favourites) sell popcorn - salty with bacon fat or caramel with doce de leite. at the end of the school day, church services, by metro stations and busy junctions, a little army of these carts and their owners appear ready to feed the masses.
