Tiny Tuesday - lichen on a tree branch
....................... on a seat in the bus stop.
Seemed to ache everywhere through the night so I got up and took a couple of codeine. Got back to sleep without any trouble and had a long lie in. Becky phoned around 12.15pm and we had a nice chat for around an hour. She was walking through the park in Richmond as we talked and at one point she had to take shelter as she was being bombarded by hailstones. The weather here was better - chilly but dry.
I went to Newcastle this afternoon. Had to return a couple of items I bought last week. One of them was a camera. Bought on a whim but when I got it home I changed my mind about it. I had mentioned to Becky about returning the camera and she said " I don't think you can return cameras to Argos". So I checked online and it's true. I think the reason is that someone could buy a camera, put a memory card in, take loads of photos, upload them, take memory card out ..... and return camera. Anyway I thought I would take a chance and go to Argos anyway. The checkout lady took everything out of the box and examined it all thoroughly. She put the battery in and turned the camera on. Then she took it to The Manager. I was getting pessimistic at this point. But she came back and sorted out a refund. Whew!. Anyway I have learned my lesson - don't buy a camera on a whim. (However........... I have just ordered a camera online but I did my research first and I think I have chosen well )
Neil was at work today and he came back here afterwards. He has made the decision not to run in The London Marathon which takes place on 24th April. He is going to defer his place till next year. The reason being that he was injured playing rugby last Saturday and his ankle is too sore for him to do any training. So he thinks he won't be ready for the Marathon. The organisers encourage people who aren't fit to drop out instead of running and maybe risking illness or injury. They would rather you deferred till next year. So reluctantly this is what Neil has decided to do. I did ask him why he played rugby when the marathon was so near. His reply " It was a Cup game ". Oh well -- that explains it!.
