Egyptian Geese....

I went out earlyish today to go for a walk around the YSP. (Yorkshire Sculpture Park) Not to see the sculptures as the poppies have been replaced with huge weird things...cartoony things in black and brown. The only one of those I like is the one that is covering its eyes as if to say 'Oh my goodness, what are these things?' The link is here should you be wondering what I am on about... 

The forecast was sunshine but in reality that didn't arrive until about 12. When I took this pic of the Egyptian geese it was dark and rainy....still, very nice to see. I do think however, as with the scultpures, they look a bit strange....

The sun came out and I watched a kingfisher around the water for about an hour. I hid myself in a prickly hawthorn tree/bush so it wouldn't notice. Twice I left that bush as I thought it had flown off. Wrong! I think it must have been way up in a tree and waiting for me to go because when I left, I looked over to where I had been and there it was, on the branch that had been directly in front of me.... such is life! Nevertheless, it's always fabulous to watch a kingy fishing :)
