'Storm Katie'

Family going home today after a lovely Easter. We drove en route with them to Newhaven (just a short detour from their route to Hampshire). The boys enjoyed watching the huge waves crashing against the Pier and lighthouse. The sound of the waves was amazing. Lots of photographers there, with tripods and enormous lenses. Don't know how they coped in the strong winds. We waved my family off after an hour and stayed on to watch the spectacle. The sky got bluer..by about three pm the sea was calming and by this evening the storm had gone.

Lots of damage around and about....it was a sleepless night for most, trees and roofs damaged!
