Santa Fe Shopping

Not entirely sure what you'd use these items he's carrying for, but then I've never been big on dead animals on my walls :)

Intense first day, mostly spent inside on lectures and critique by the instructor of four pictures we each had to submit that are representative of our style. My portrait submissions were glossed over while my street shots got high praise. Unfortunately, the praise was for things that I hadn't deliberately set out to do (maybe I'm just *that* good? nah). So the old self-confidence is a bit shaken up....

We did get 3 hours to shoot and grab a quick dinner before the evening program. So I went around downtown Santa Fe and I must say I was a bit disappointed: most of it is stores and art galleries - of the kind you might also find in Lake Placid or Park City or any number of other tourist cities with a native american heritage. It was all a bit soulless, I think. I wonder where the heart of that city is...

Tomorrow, we're on the road for the whole day to a couple of "highly visual" spots. I'm hoping for a more authentic experience.
