Cornwall's mining past

Went to Heartlands today, a new free visitor attraction and World Heritage Gateway near Cambourne. It is a lovely spot, with a massive adventure playground but an equally impressive visitor centre, which tells the history of tin mining in the area. This is the massive winch that was used to work the lifts that took the miners up and down the shafts.
