Kristiansund
This morning we arrived in Kristiansund (not to be confused with Kristiansand!) The Cruise Director promised us a day of rain, and certainly that is what we got to begin with. But by this afternoon, the sun had come out. We are hoping for a spectacular sail away when we leave at about 4pm.
Over many years, Kristiansund made its name from the export of dried fish, although now it is one of the centres of the oil trade.
We had a pleasant morning going from island to island on the 'Sundbat', ot harbour water-taxi. On one of the many quaysides, we came across this statue, and I said to Mrs jml that I must get a photo of the Musselburgh fishwife. So here she is.
