Signing her life away

Today marked another big step in procuring our new house. Taking time off work, we spent the morning at the Mortgage Broker.

Thankfully everything went through but there was a slight hitch. Because the bump's mum is an alien in this country, a joint mortgage would have required a 25% deposit. Fortunately there was a way around this. With Nikki 'gifting' me her portion of the deposit the the bank were happy to give me a full mortgage with a much smaller deposit. Result!

It's obviously disappointing to be the sole name on the deeds but at least we've managed to secure a new house for our family.

I guess this blip really should have been a bald image of me stroking a cat. Cue the maniacal laugh...
