I had to have an emergency Caesarean after more than 18 hours of labour, climbing in and out of the birthday pool as I was determined to have a natural birth but my boy was just too big and started going into distress.

I hated the idea of an epidural and an op to welcome my baby into my arms and felt I'd failed as a women because I couldn't fall pregnant naturally and then I couldn't give birth naturally, but I'm grateful for the joy this young man has brought to my life and he makes me so proud to be his Mum.

He towers over me at more than 6ft now but I don't just look up to him because of the height difference.
