Sony CM-R111 Analogue Mobile Phone

Not strictly mine, but somehow found its way into my bag of goodies. My Mum's first phone dating from 1994! 

Appropriate the model number is 111 as this is very much a 1G phone, utilising a system called ETACS. The capacity of the analogue networks were meagre compared to the digital successors. But phones like this paved the way for mass mobile phone ownership by bringing a previously expensive and exclusive technology to new users and many more homes, cars, offices across the country. Glad to still have this, in mint condition too. Even if it did power up, the network to support it was switched off at the turn of the millennium.
