Inspate

Today hillwalking with friends was planned and, despite the weather, 8 people set out (3 came but wimped out!) from Inverlochlarig at the end of the Braes of Balquhidder road.
We walked through some forest and then steeply up beside this burn, (with some views across to Stobinean) which was waterfalls all the way, to an indistinct summit. On the way we stopped by a rock where there were quite a number of Saxifraga oppositifolia, the purple saxifrage or purple mountain saxifrage, growing. (see extra).
There was then a bit of a delay as the cloud had come down and so care had to be taken to get the right way down. We got back safely, though the puddles on the track were considerably larger than on the way up,  and repaired to what used to be called the Kingshouse for coffee and cakes.
Not many photos taken in the unremitting rain.
