Terra Karnaval

Tonight was the yearly parade opening the Just for Laughs Festival and it w as sponsored by Guy Laliberté the owner of Cirque du Soleil and our first citizen astronaut. His main cause is to preserve the planet, particularly its water, but all its natural beauty as well.

The parade's team was Terra Karnaval. Children had been asked to make pictures of how they saw the future and themes and costumes were made out of these pictures. Many borough of the city, a lot of them from disadvantaged areas, were involved in the parade and costume making. Children of all ages from 7-8 to graying ones were part of the parade and gave it its human imperfection and gauche walk.

Though they came early in the parade, and other creatures were more extravagant, I adore horses and these ones made me laugh quite a bit. The puppeteers were having quite a bit of fun and so did I.
