The i360 tower, still under construction.

The tower, which is on Brighton seafront is apparently intended to replace the wrecked West Pier, albeit vertically rather than horizontally. At the moment it looks like a factory chimney , but eventually there will be a pod or viewing platform. There will be the usual shops and cafes.The cost is said to be £46m, £36m of which is via the  Public Loan Board. Hmmm. I'm not sure if this is money well spent. There are areas of Brighton seafront near the functioning Palace Pier which are almost derelict.
