Time to go home

This was our plane landing at Funchal airport from Birmingham, as we waited on the observation terrace.  Funchal is quite a Technical airport because of the side winds.  The extended the runway our over the sea a few years ago but apparently the extension is hardly used as the planes are usually on such a quick turn around that the pilots get back to the terminal as quickly as possible.

We were happy to discover that the charges for the hire car with the puncture were not too bad and the flight home was good.
