Sunny Durban!

After a 11 hour flight to Johannesburg followed by a 1 hour connection fight to Durban,  we are finally here in hot and sunny South Africa. Gavin's mum flew from Johannesburg to Durban with us and today was all about settling in to our accommodation and seeing our family. We are staying at a wonderful B&B in Umhlanga Rocks (which is north along the coast from Durban) and it was a good choice as the accommodation is superb, with beautifully decorated rooms and a large swimming pool in the garden to use for our leisure.

My family came after lunch and we had a leisurely afternoon sitting outside on the patio chatting and having coffee and teas, and some had the home made biscotti that was on offer - all complimentary at the B&B.

This is the well known lighthouse in Umhlanga, and the extras are one of the boys (for Molly) and of a cheeky little monkey.

Tomorrow is my mum's 80th birthday lunch. Tonight will be an early night as we are all tired from the night time flight
