From loch an t-sidhein
A beautiful, sunny early morning in the hills; looking round saw slicks of ice on the bog pools, so must have been below freezing! Later, the temperature rose to 12'. Had gone into these hills to look for the Golden Plover, lovely mountain birds. Heard them all round, saw some, photoed none! Good to hear Curlew, Lapwing, Oystercatchers and Greylag geese. This is a Grouse moor and they were everywhere, calling and flying. They have a strange flight, always looks like they have been thrown into the air, then arc down, flapping!
Later, down at the river, saw the first Osprey arriving at its nesting site! Exciting!
