The Power of the Cross

Oh, to see the dawn
of the darkest day:
Christ on the road to Calvary.
Tried by sinful men,
torn and beaten, then
nailed to a cross of wood.

     This, the pow'r of the cross:
     Son of God - slain for us.
     What a love! What a cost!
     We stand forgiven at the cross.

I have to confess that this photograph was not taken today but I knew when I saw the silhouette of the cross that it was to be my Good Friday blip.  I am not long home from our church Good Friday service where our thoughts were focused on 'The World Redeemed through the Death of Jesus Christ'

The iron cross is at the bottom of the lane across from my sister's house in Elie.
