It Gets Worse….

Back-blip 2 of 6…..

After yesterday's trials and tribulations, we received a message that we'd been re-routed to Seoul via Moscow, so we had breakfast, checked out of our Helsinki hotel and went to the airport lounge to await for our flight, some seven hours later.

However, mid afternoon a loud-speaker announcement confirmed that our Moscow flight had been delayed which meant that we would not be there in time for our connection to Seoul!!! Two of us marched to the Customer Service Desk, waited for other passengers to have their rant then, mostly coolly and calmly, discussed options. They were working on them and would inform us in due course, along with the other 200 plus passengers of course.

Our names were called around an hour later so we went back to the Desk and discovered that we had been allocated a flight to Amsterdam, from where we would catch a flight to South Korea. Others had been routed  via various locations including China. Hobson's choice it seems.

So, we arrived in Amsterdam, having left home 36 hours earlier and spent nearly 13 hours in the air!! Thankfully our Korean Air flight to Seoul was on time and the service on board excellent.
