Bud

Erythronium 'White Beauty' has burst from below ground, almost overnight it seems.  Bejewelled after a short shower, the mottled leaves part to reveal a bud, pink at the tip, something I had not noticed before.

Up at six to wake Ruth and help her get ready for her trip to Wales today.  She took delivery of an active-user wheelchair two days ago and today she has crossed the country in it!  Thanks to the good offices of the railway assistance team and friends from the Talyllyn, she is now ensconced in the volunteer hostel, her first stay there since she took to her wheels.

Guess where we are going on Monday  :-)
