Maundy Thursday Celebration

It was good to welcome St Mary's School for their end of term assembly. Being Maundy Thursday a group of children re-enacted the Lord's Supper. The script I had a written had a fair amount of words for the Jesus actor. The staff has reduced the child's spoken part (very sensible); this gave him space to be very thoughtful and careful about his actions - such as breaking the bread here. Although I had written 'he whispered' the boy spoke the line 'I am going to die' with such clarity it was startling.
