All that's left...

...and it will soon be eaten too!

So the cake got made at 5am this morning. Luke managed to 'borrow' 2 eggs from work.

The Hummingbird Cake was a hit with many requests for the recipe. It was delicious even if it was a bit crumbly because of the hurry.

We also surprised the birthday girl with balloons, banners and well chosen photos of her plastered all over the centre. By then time she left for the day, she thought we were done.

Much to her astonishment, we all surprised her at a birthday dinner out on the town. I think we did well! And she's probably quite happy that you only turn 50 once :)
