Mergansers

There's a lot of courting going on in the bay, and the argy bargy that goes with it!  These two female mergansers were desperately trying to be the favoured bird, bickering with each other and pursuing the male frantically, but he was totally disinterested in both of them!

We have a Great Northern Diver here too at the moment, a huge bird and a wonderful sight.  Will endeavour to get close enough for a photo!
