Family Time

It's been such a looooong day. We left the cottage at 9:30 this morning and have just returned 12 hours later.
We coffeed in Cullen, lunched and dined in Elgin and in between looked round antique shops ( His Lordship) and roamed around harbours with a camera (me), before fetching up at the home of son#1 and family.

With too many blips to choose from, I have opted for one of graffiti on a disused shop window in Elgin which says much of what we experienced today when we visited the family. Susan cooked a splendid dinner for us and the twins who had their 10th birthday last Sunday entertained us by playing a seemingly never ending game of badminton in the garden. This was a lot easier on the ears and nerves than a recital on the drums or chanter.

An input of bubbly and wine ensured a soporific hour's bus run back in the darkness of country roads with only the occasional lighted village to indicate our position. More by luck than good guidance, we managed to alight at the correct darkened road end before hiking the half mile down to the sea and our cottage.
