In the blink of an eye
I don't know if anyone else has observed how difficult it is to take flash pictures of cats with their eyes open. They always have their eyes closed in the image.
I couldn't believe that a cat could react in the fractions of a millisecond necessary so I did a little bit of research.
I read somewhere that TTL flash does two flashes and the cat has time to react to the first flash.
I therefore tried the flash in manual mode rather than TTL and once I worked out how to control the exposure it was clear that you can take pictures of cats with their eyes open.
I did use bounced flash for this experiment as I didn't want to burn Millie's retina in the experiment
