The Dyke and the Puddle.
Another nondescript day passes; we are awaiting wet end to the week. Yet again another 6 hours has passed without internet service. And to think at one time I used to have tantrum control if my clockwork train wasn’t wound up. As punishment my cousin, Caroline, used to lock me in the coal shed. It explains a lot.
However it does not explain what so very few people on this planet do not know the wonders of Strath Fleet. Although maybe therein lies the reason why it has so many charms. By rail, road and bike it is superb. And going towards the coast it is an almost continual freewheel. It has no grandeur of Glen Coe, no watery cataracts, no rock climbers. Yet it is a subliminal collection of every Scottish subtly in existence. Walk it and your life will be transformed. Ineffable.
