Rats

This is road works to fix ever failing traffic lights. What caused all this disruption and endless tail-backs? It is because Rats have been chewing the cables to the traffic lights. You will notice a McDonalds on the opposite corner. I wonder what might have brought Rats into the area in the first place !?
