Cuddling up!

When the time comes for the 5000 Pets as Therapy dogs in the UK to be picked to go forward to Crufts(2013) it goes through a process to find the best six dogs this is done by nomination forms from the establishments they visit and having usually a tear jerking story.

I've been lucky enough to qualify for the last two years with Roo being runner up twice.

His first year told the story of the ex RAF man, who had sadly suffered a stroke he couldn't show any emotions and kept it all in, that was until the day Roo sat on his lap, he cried for all he was worth and could then start talking of
how he felt.

The second year told the story of a patient who had been a visitor onto the stroke ward and had told his wife if that ever happens to me I just wouldn't go on, a week later he had a massive stroke, he went into shutdown, wouldn't respond to anything, family, friends or medical staff wouldn't eat, drink or talk.

Until the day Roo sat by him and he gently placed a hand on his head opened his eyes and smiled, he's now home doing great...
Enough of this sob story ... The nomination forms are out and I'm getting them filled in ready to return in a weeks time to see if Roo can make it three times lucky... I had to laugh today when the consultant on the ward wrote Roo is a legend!!! How good is that?
