Fallen Tree
Just before we went away on holiday one of the oaks that grow in a line above a rock face along the side of our house slipped down into the garden.
This is the third or fourth time such a thing has happened since we came here 20 years ago and there is evidence from still growing, but odly angled, trees alongside the others that the phenomenon has been going on a lot longer than that.
Obvioiusly a very wet spell tends to loosen the roots and gravity does the rest. But when they fall like this they provide lots of firewood (though not without a fair bit of work in cutting them up) and also some spectacular views of the parts one would normally only see above one's head, including this prolific growth of lichen near the tree's topmost branches.
