Our Taxi Awaits

Back where we started in a dark blue BMW. Our four months of travel are over and a mammoth wash is about to begin. The trip from Dubai was as straightforward as Emirates can make it and in particular the check in was a delight. We had said our goodbyes to Julia the night before so there were no tears as we stepped in to the taxi. We will be seeing her again in a weeks time, as she will be coming home for Easter, so it was not a difficult parting for any of us.
Back in Carnoustie, the wood burning stove was on and a smell of freshly baked scones filled the house. We had a warm welcome from Catriona and Diane and we invited our taxi driver in for some tea before he headed back to Dunfermline where Pauline nursed a cold. 
The retirement proper starts tomorrow.
