Quizzical Pheasant

At the Loch of the Lowes Scottish Wildlife Trust Reserve near Dunkeld there is a constant supply of seeds and nuts which attracts a wide variety of common and garden local birds (see extra photo of bluetits). This peasant is one of the largest species attracted to the feeding area outside the observation window. 
Yesterday the female osprey arrived from Africa which caused a great stir as the male will soon follow. Last year was a successful breeding season with the two hatched fledglings heading off in the autumn. Great sights on their webcam. See other extra photo taken from the screen in the Centre.
