Photography Show

Hardly took any pictures today, so this is about the best I can manage!

We spent the day at the Photography Show in Birmingham.  Today was our wedding anniversary, so it was nice to do something together that we both enjoy!

We started the day with an hours course on how to cut mounts.  After a wander through the stands we then watched Leon Neal, Photojournalist, giving a talk on the Nikon Stage.  After lunch we went to an Adobe presentation about hidden gems in Photoshop before heading back up to the Nikon stand for a critique of some of our photos with Leon Neal.

This was excellent, and lasted about double the time it was supposed to!  It was interesting to contrast his observations about our pictures with those of recent camera club judges...

We finished off the day watching another Nikon presentation about Back Garden Safari before having a last look around the stands.

We restrained ourselves from buying too much, coming home with a mount cutter and some paper samples.

It was a great day, made all the more surreal by a comic convention going on next door, so in amongst the photographers making their way into the hall you'd find the odd power ranger or space marine.  Amusing!

We'd have liked to have met up with the other blippers who attended, but we didn't manage to find the time, wanting to take in as much of the show as we could.
