My new checkerboard winklepickers @UNDERGROUNDSHOE

A pair of size 10 black & white checkerboard winklepicker shoes have been my social media avatar for years, so much so that people often recognise at writing events by spotting my shoes. But the original pair have been re-soled several times and close to disintegration for a while now. Made by Underground Shoes, I couldn't find a replacement pair anywhere, new or secondhand.

Happily, Underground runs a special order service and will make a new pair from a discontinued line if ask nicely [and pay extra, obvs]. So, as a xmas treat for myself last December, I ordered a fresh pair of checkerboard winklepickers - and they've just arrived!

Ahh, pointy-toed monochrome bliss is mine...
