Brant Rock, Massachusetts

I needed some Atlantic salt and the sound of the waves today. It was quite cold and we didn't stay out of the car long in the blustery wind. It was long enough to cure my ocean needs visually and sensually. We're about 25-30 minutes from the coast, so a fix is easy. We're getting a scaled down spring Nor'easter tomorrow with snowing and blowing. You could feel it in the air, but the sea was a delightful green under a rather ominous sky.

For the Record,
This day came in cold and sunny with increasing clouds.

All hands healing

History of Brant Rock

In January 1906, Reginald Fessenden achieved the first two-way transatlantic radiotelegraph transmission, exchanging Morse code messages between his stations in Brant Rock and MachrihanishScotland. (Marconi had only achieved one-way transmissions prior to his date). On Christmas Eve, December 24, 1906, Fessenden transmitted from Brant Rock Station the first audio radio broadcast of music and entertainment in history. Radio operators on ships in the Atlantic heard a broadcast that included Fessenden playing the song O Holy Night on the violin and reading a passage from the Bible.

Extra, last day for the tulips
