Standing stone

Happy Equinox, Blip friends!

Bright and sunny on the first day of Spring, as we set out on a walk around Fowberry and Weetwood. Some fabulous views of the surrounding landscape on the way up to Fowberry Mains, which turned out to be a row of cottages as well as a farm. By the farm, in the middle of a field inhabited by sheep and lambs, was this quite impressive standing stone. It's not marked on the OS map or mentioned on the internet as far as I can see, so we assume that it's possibly a 'modern' stone and placed there by the farmer or the community.

Back via Weetwood Moor and, luckily, the last part of the walk was along a very quiet road, as  Louie was obviously flagging by then. So I waited with him while MrM went and fetched the car.

Home to a late lunch.
