IN A FIELD IN CUMBRIA

......... there stands a Demoiselle Crane. 

It has no rings on its legs but the possibility of it being an escapee from a private collection has not been discounted, yet. Anyway, we saw it, and it was very handsome. If you look at the right hand end of the fence which is lit up by the sun, beyond that is a rock on the edge of the water, beyond that in the field stands the Crane. 

You won't be able to see it so I have put the bird on as an extra ..... if you are interested. And a shot taken in North Yorkshire on the way back. Just look at that Cumbrian sky compared to ours!
