Not quite ...
The Met Office site ( you can tell I use it a bit) suggested that this afternoon we'd have some sun, and by 3pm we could see that to the north the sky was indeed turning blue, with sun on the hills. Trouble is, Dunoon often feels as if it all points the wrong way, with the glens where the walks are too often in shadow by late afternoon ...
And this was as bright as it got - until we were back indoors watching Scotland being beaten at rugby. The clouds had bluish tinges, and the mist on the hilltops had a suggestion of brightness in it. But it was quite hideously cold, and after a couple of miles we gave up.
Not quite a sunny afternoon.
