More Elves

He watched as long as he could as the giant wind spinner flailed around with twisted ends, until he just had to release the rope and lower it, as seen here on grammapat's blip, and untangle the thing! In days gone by, I would have worried about drawing attention from somebody who might be 'in charge' of the spinner. Not today, life is much more fun when you just do what needs to be done and answer any questions as they come up. Here we have Sheepish Contraptioneer on the left...not acting very sheepishly...and my dad on the right...acting very sheepishly, as I didn't hear him say a word the whole time..focused intently on unraveling the streamers on the end of the wind sock so they will wave freely in the wind. Their actions quickly drew the attention and assistance of another helpful fellow on the dock and soon after, a nice gentleman from the Port Authority. Lovely.

All is well, the nice man who joined in did all the talking while these two just kept their eyes on their work, my mom and I snapped photos and the fellow in charge finally just complimented them for doing a good deed and off he went. It's all good!

It occurred to me today that waiting for seagulls to fly into view of the camera and trying to capture and nice crisp photo of them is sort of like fishing. Had my dad only handed us a camera when we went fishing, I bet we would have stayed longer and whined less. Who knew!
