Sturts Desert Pea.
This is a wildflower here in Australia & it grows in the outback/desert areas extremely well especially after these arid areas have had rain. I have them growing in my back yard almost 12 months of the year. The soil they are growing in is similar to the arid areas, they don't need fertilisers & rich soil to be ble to thrive. I was lucky enough to work in the outback on an Opal Mining Field & when I left I brought some seeds from the native plants with me. Quite a few years ago I threw some of the seeds into the backyard & when the time was right they grew. Now as the plants flower & mature they drop more seeds & the peas just come up whereever they want to. As they don't transplant well I just let them grow whereever they come up. The one in this photo hasn't got a real black centre like they usually do but is still a very pretty flower.
