Nirvana Songs
A few errands this morning under a flatly grey sky.
Lancaster must logically have bits that are fabulous, but on the whole it's not somewhere we ever choose to linger and today was no different, even taking a road less travelled on our return cast up nowhere that looked worth investigating.
With pooch in the back of the car however it gives you a reason to push on past the urge to simply go for a coffee & cake, so as we pulled into Orton we drove past home and made our way up onto the Scar. The grey day is easy to forget when you hear a husky sing her song of happiness, something Pushka does whenever the car turns off onto the fells road. If she's been away, or its just been a while, it's vitally important for Pushka to check out her territories (she tells us so) and the Scar is most definitely somewhere she considers 'hers'. So a long leisurely loop involved sniffing most of the rocks, all the tall grass and the Victoria Memorial - as well as a full on howl to let the grouse know that she's back. As ever our moods were suitably lifted by her exuberance.
