Heron fishing in The River Windrush

Very grey weather wise today and a lack of inspiration for my daily blip so imagine my delight when a heron landed on the opposite bank of the river and put on a fishing display.

I couldn't believe the size of the fish! He walked around with it for a while as it wriggled around and then he swallowed it whole! His neck looked much thicker for a while as the fish went down. (a few shots in extras to show the  heron pre-fish and then the swallowing process)
