Our walk took us through the Savelsbos today, a 6 km long belt of forested hills on the eastern Meuse valley slope east and southeast of Maastricht. The forest has very steep, often eroding slopes with a height of 70 m to 125 m above sea level with many steps paths. We have walked over there many times when we lived in Maastricht, only a few steps away from this beautiful forest.
At the end, there is eatery 'de Bosrand', good for a latte and rice tart with whipped cream.
