Lily
Today was 90 degrees (32C) and so humid that there was a mist all day. I felt quite comfortable, even wearing a cardigan. All that ghastly stuff we experienced near 45C heat index seems to have helped me acclimatize.
I had a lovely brunch with C. (he treated me) and his family at the Hotel Sofitel. It was a little piece of heaven.
I went out this evening about 8 p.m. as the sun was lowering in a huge fiery rose-tinted orange ball in the humid mist. I photographed a railway bridge with the rosy fingers of sunset touching it and stopped to photograph an orange Volkswagen Beatle of early 1970s vintage in perfect condition (one of my favorite cars of all time). But frankly, when it came down to it I just loved this gorgeous freshly watered lily, which I captured on our walk round the block this morning before the heat of the day.
